Important Notice: Summer Construction & Traffic Flow Updates

Posted Date: 6/27/25 (6:13 PM)

Dear Harpursville School Community,

We would like to inform you that during the summer months, our campus will be undergoing exciting construction projects in the back parking lot area, athletic fields, and the old bus garage. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, as well as to allow uninterrupted access for construction crews, we ask all visitors and staff to adhere to the following traffic and parking guidelines:

Parking:
  • The only available on-campus parking will be the upper parking lot next to the elementary student drop-off loop.
  • If the parking lot next to the elementary drop-off is full, you can also park at the Harpursville Baptist Church, located at 41 Cumber Road.
  • A shuttle bus will be available daily at 7:40 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to transport staff to and from campus and the Baptist Church.
Summer Enrichment Program:Drop-Off (8:00 a.m.)
  • Parents should follow the normal school-year drop-off traffic pattern.
  • Due to the restricted parking and lot availability, we are making some minor changes in our parent drop-off procedure for the sake of student safety and efficiency in getting cars in and out of the drop-off area. These changes are:
    • Students must exit from the passenger (right) side of the vehicle.
    • Parents should remain in their vehicles during drop-off.
    • Staff will be on hand to assist the students exiting the car and guide them safely into the building.
Pick-Up (2:00 p.m.)
  • Parent pick-up will follow the same traffic pattern as drop-off.
Bussed Students:
  • Morning arrival: 7:45 a.m.
  • Afternoon dismissal: 1:45 p.m.
Entrance to Jr./Sr. High School:
  • Students and staff are asked to use the entrance located on the Main Street side of the Jr./Sr. High School, on the left side near the gym and cafeteria. Signs will be posted to direct you to the correct entrance.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our campus safe, organized, and accessible during these exciting improvements. Your adherence to these guidelines is greatly appreciated!
